ABOUT
Six Square is the heart and steward of Austin’s African American Cultural Heritage District—a living archive where history, culture, and community converge. As the first designated Black cultural district in the state of Texas, Six Square preserves and amplifies the stories, spaces, and legacies that shaped East Austin, while actively investing in its future.
THE CHALLENGE
Six Square needed a digital platform that could better reflect its role as Austin’s Black Cultural District and effectively communicate its mission of preserving and celebrating Black culture, history, and community. The challenge was to create a website that showcased its programs, events, and impact while serving as a central hub for education, engagement, partnerships, and community growth.
THE SOLUTION
We partnered with Six Square to create a modern, engaging website that reflects the significance of Austin’s Black Cultural District and makes it easier for visitors to connect with its mission. Through thoughtful design, compelling storytelling, and an intuitive user experience, we built a digital hub that showcases cultural preservation efforts, community programs, historical resources, and events while strengthening engagement, visibility, and community connection.
